5/16-18 shoulder bolt What size wrench do I need?
I want to remove a bolt from a piece of machinery that I have. The exploded diagram states that the bolt is a 5/16-18. What type of wrench do I need to remove this bolt? Please answer in millimeters.

It depends on the size of the shoulder. measure acrosss the flats of the hexagon, and you’ve got it. A metric wrench will round off the points; find an SAE wrench. A standard 5/16 bolt takes a 1/2″ wrench, or 13 mm in your language.
The wrench needed is not listed in the sizing of that bolt as presented in the question. You’ll have to use trial and error.
Also, since the bolt’s measurements are SAE, you’ll need an SAE wrench to get it out of there. Metric probably won’t fit properly and will run a risk of stripping it out.
Thats interesting, since they are telling you its in sae thats what you use.metric wrench ain’t gonna fit. Plus sounds like you are trying to make it complicated. take your tool box out and take it apart thats the easiest.I v’e been doing building maint for ten years. And auto mech for just as long.I work on boilers, plumbing, electrical,You name it and Iv’e done it. And I take pride in my work just do it.But be safe fingers don’t grow back.
